Audi Becomes Official Sponsor of New York Yankees

Audi announced it will become the official luxury vehicle of the New York Yankees and unveiled a new slogan, “Audi: The official sponsor of Alex Rodriguez’s biceps.”

OK, so I made the slogan up, but Audi really has become an official sponsor of New York’s legendary, divisive baseball powerhouse. This includes the new Audi Yankees Club, an exclusive box seat location in left field with a members-only restaurant where guests can watch the game in “true Audi style.” (Presumably that means Jason Statham sits by you and scowls for nine innings.)

The partnership begins in the Yankees’ new stadium this season and extends through the 2011 season.

All we can say is good luck selling another Audi in Boston.

Statham Has Sensitive Skin

Jason Statham says he can’t have a proper shave - because he has such “sensitive” skin.

The Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels star - a former Olympic high-board diver - has become well known for his hard image, which he enhances with some Desperate Dan style stubble.

But the British actor, 36, has revealed that his unkempt look has nothing to do with looking hard.

He says, “You see, I’ve got such sensitive skin that I can’t have a proper shave because I get a rash.

“I have to have one of those beard trimmers instead. I also try to compensate for the lack on top.

“Just grow a bit more facial hair - it sort of balances everything out!”

Love Scenes Require Careful Planning

Jason Statham has a tender side when it comes to love scenes.

The British hardman - who returns to screens shortly in adrenalin-charged sequel Crank: High Voltage - says bedroom scenes require careful planning.

He explains, “First off, you have to get ready. You don’t want to go and have a big cheese and onion sandwich before you do some love scene with a gorgeous woman.

“Then you try and make the lady feel as comfortable as you can. After that, you just get on with it. Actually, it’s nice to get paid for that kind of work.”

UPDATED: Schwarzenegger and Roberts Join Stallone’s ‘Expendables’

I can’t help but get excited over the names Sylvester Stallone has lined up for his upcoming film The Expendables as Ain’t It Cool News brings confirmation that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Eric Roberts (replacing Ben Kingsley) have just signed on to the cast which already included Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Forest Whitaker, Dolph Lundgren and Mickey Rourke.

The film is about a group of mercenaries(Stallone, Statham and Li) sent to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator to liberate the population. Their team is “expendable,” hired to do jobs that no one else can or will. Filming is expected to begin in February in Costa Rica and Louisiana.

The Audi Super Bowl 2009 ad starring Jason Statham is a really great car Super Bowl commercial. It has action and also funny scenes. Jason Statham drawing a deep sigh looking at a Lexus as his next escape car is hilarious.

In the Audi Super Bowl 2009 Ad Jason Statham rushes from decade to decade to avoid capture, trying to find a vehicle to aid his getaway. He finds that several other luxury vehicles fail to get the job done. That is, until he finds the supercharged Audi A6, the company’s redesigned, mid-sized luxury sedan. STATHAM WAS FIRST CHOICE FOR FAST-PACED AUDI AD

Speedy movie star JASON STATHAM won the lead role in a new 60-second Audi Super Bowl ad after cementing himself in the driving seat as the car firm’s number one celebrity fan. The actor not only drives Audis in his Transporter films, but he owns two - and he also narrated the documentary The Truth in 24, which chronicles the car firm’s successes in the Le Mans 24-hour rally.
Audi spokesman Andrew Lipman admits the car company never had any play to use anyone else for the minute-long spot, which will debut in America during the Super Bowl telecast on Sunday (01Feb09).
He says, “We’ve worked with Jason before and he’s wonderful to work with… He’s a big enthusiast of the brand.
“We wanted an action-adventure type of an ad and Jason exudes that.”

Audi A6 Heading To Super Bowl Ad

Jason Statham is trading in the Audi A8 he’s driven in the Transporter movie trilogy for a new a supercharged A6. The ad, titled “Chase,” is patterned after a Hollywood car chase scene but with Statham running through time and classic cars that don’t get the job done, until he gets in the new A6.

Having just driven the 2009 A6 with the new 3.0-liter V-6 I have to say it is unbelievably quick. Not time-travel quick, but plenty fast for leadfoots.
The A6 is not really the company’s best-known, nor best-selling product. The 60-second spot – worth around $6 million – is a lot to invest in the model, but it will also build brand identity as Audi looks to continue stealing market share from BMW and Mercedes.
